Susan Jackson, born and
raised in the UK, and has
over twenty years experience
in film and television,
holding executive positions
at The Samuel Goldwyn Company,
BBC, Viacom, Sony and BMG
(Bertelsmann.)
In 1999 Ms. Jackson left
the corporate world and
launched Turtles Crossing,
LLC, an independent feature
film sales and marketing
company, based in Malibu,
California. Turtles Crossing
sells films to the studios,
DVD distributors and major
television networks. To
date the company also has
Executive Produced ten films,
including the indie hit
Cabin Fever, the upcoming
2007 Freestyle Releasing
theatrical release Borderland
(with Sean Astin) and Spring
Fever (Cabin Fever II) which
is currently in post-production
and will be released by
Lionsgate in 08.
Freestyle Releasing, LLC
was started in 2004 with
partner Mark Borde as a
domestic theatrical distribution
company. Freestyle releases
the films of several clients
and partners, including
After Dark (An American
Haunting - $18m box office,
8 Films To Die For - Horror
Fest - $2.5m box office
over 5 day weekend, Yari
Film Group (The Illusionist
- $40m box office). In addition,
Freestyle performs distribution
services for major production
companies and independent
producers of commercial
films who have chosen to
go the non-studio distribution
route. Freestyle teams with
several P&A funds to
provide P&A and ancillary
deals for producers to support
anything from a specialty
platform release on 50 screens
to a wide release of over
2500 screens.
Ms. Jackson’s newest
venture, Freestyle Home
Entertainment, Inc. formed
in 2005, arranges DVD distribution
through Universal Music
and Lionsgate.
